TestFlight Gets Updated with Dark Mode and Tinted Icons for iOS 18

The TestFlight app has undergone a significant update with a new design and several new features, and just before the year ends, Apple adds even more. The latest version of the app for iOS now includes support for dark and tinted icons in iOS 18.

TestFlight now supports dark and tinted icons

The release notes for TestFlight app version 3.7.0 indicate that this update introduces a dark icon and enhances support for the painted icon mode introduced with iOS 18. While iOS can automatically adapt certain icons to a dark theme, the appearance may not always be ideal; thus, developers have the option to create custom icons suited for these modes.

For those who might be new to it, TestFlight is an Apple platform that facilitates developers in distributing beta versions of their apps to users on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro.

As mentioned in our October update, Apple has made significant changes to TestFlight to enhance user experience. The app’s interface has been redesigned to closely resemble that of the App Store, including app descriptions and screenshots. Previously, TestFlight only displayed developers’ notes regarding what to test.

Last month, Apple also updated the Apple Developer app for iOS 18 to feature a dark icon. Additionally, the App Store Connect app, which developers use to manage their apps on platforms like iOS and watchOS, has also received a redesign.
