Fitness expert and founder of Udefy, Youssef Amir, transitions from being a young lad struggling with his posture to become a sought-after personal trainer
Youssef Amir was born and raised in the Land of the Pharaohs (Egypt). However, he migrated to the United States in the pursuit of greener pastures. Over the past ten years, Youssef has mastered the craft of fitness training, developing his personal training methods and changing countless lives through fitness and exercise.
Youssef Amir was not cut out for the fitness industry as a young lad as he was often attacked by his granddad for his slouchy posture. “I was only 15 years old when my grandfather began hounding me about my poor posture. As annoying as it was to hear, grandfather was right,” said Youssef Amir.
“My grandfather had witnessed the effects that bad posture produced in others. Issues like difficulty breathing, abnormal joint alignment, and a host of other serious problems. We are all born to be asymmetrical both neurologically and anatomically, and that is completely normal. However, when those asymmetries become too excessive and we’re not able to return to balance, it could wreak havoc on function and performance and leave us in chronic pain,” Youssef continued.
Things took a dramatic change after Youssef decided to take a hold of his life by enrolling in a gym, where he met Mostafa, his first instructor, and possible mentor. “While it took years to fully grasp what he was trying to tell me, the idea eventually took hold. I finally took the plunge to enroll at a gym and hire a personal trainer. My first coach was nothing short of amazing. Not only did he teach me the ins and outs of training, but also opened my eyes to the parallels of fitness and life,” said Youssef Amir.
Mostafa was more than a fitness coach to Youssef as he also helped him to imbibe the principles of hard work, discipline, and sacrifice. “Mostafa taught me how to love myself and my body by eating right and exercising. True life lessons that compelled me to share my knowledge with others. Ever since then, I’ve been fascinated with the intricacies of the human body, biomechanics, and human physiology,” said Youssef Amir.
Youssef Amir did not stop on the teachings of Mostafa, as he has gone ahead to develop himself and overcome his poor genetics and experience incredible results. His years of personal training, commitment, and persistence have paid off and he is poised to continue to share his wealth of knowledge with others.
