We have been waiting for a long time for the release of the new iPhone, Pro, Pro Max and the all-new iPhone 12 mini. But the wait is almost over. Rumors go as far to mention that Apple is going to host its iPhone 12 launch event somewhere around mid-October, more specifically on October 13.  Recent leaks and an Apple accident have revealed the models to be released in the new iPhone 2020 series and its names.

iPhone Mini And iPhone 12 To Be Shipped First Before Launch Event

More information on the launch suggests that the cheaper devices with the 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch displays will be shipped out ahead of the higher-end models with the 6.1 and 6.7-inch OLED displays. On this note, reliable Apple leaker Jon Prosser has further mentioned details of the first Apple shipment of the new iPhone 12 devices. The date corroborates with the rumored launch date around mid-October.

Prosser states that the first of the iPhone 12 devices will be shipped to distributors on the 5th of October, prior to the launch event in the following week. This shipment is to include the new iPhone 12 mini with a 5.4-inch display and the cheaper 6.1-inch iPhone 12 device.

Prosser further claims that iPhone 12 mini is “definitely the final marketing name” for the device. Combined with the previous leaks and Prosser’s claim, there seems to be no doubt regarding the name of the only 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini device to be released within the next few weeks.

The higher-end models, namely the iPhone 12 Pro and the Pro Max devices will allegedly ship later but will be announced at the same Apple event on October 13.

iPhone Mini And iPhone 12 To Have 64 GB Storage

Another recent rumor suggests the cheaper iPhone 12 mini and 12 models will come in the range of 64 GB, 128 GB, and the highest 256 GB storage capacities. This is in contradiction to an earlier claim that all iPhone 12 models will be available with the 128 GB base storage version. Prosser clarifies that the May information was given out way before the iPhone 12 validation test even started so it was bound to go through some correction. He now states that only the higher-end iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max devices will start with the storage capacity of 128 GB.

With this new claim, Prosser is making similar claims as another Apple leaker L0vetodream, who had said back in May that Apple will make the lower-end iPhone 12 mini and 12 models start with the storage capacity of 64 GB and the higher-end Pro models with 128 GB.

However, the wait is almost over as these news will be clarified within the next few weeks when Apple launches its new iPhone 12 line-up.
