Metaverse developers Shiba Inu (SHIB) posted a statement on Tuesday informing me that the wallet address of a user has been banned for depicting a swastika symbol in the Metaverse land of the project. Team Shiba Inu team wrote that the Metaverse has blacklisted the wallet after identifying it. The person will not be allowed to participate in any part of the platform.
The hate attack began with the unveiling of the land sale of Shiba Inu Metaverse. Around 36,000 of the 100,000 plots were up for grabs through Shib.io. Enthusiasts of Cryptocurrency who locked the token in the ecosystem, LEASH, and the Shibori non-fungible tokens (NFTs) were allowed to bid on the Metaverse land, which was divided into square plots.
This land went for 0.2 to 1.0 Ether each. And every time someone submitted a proposal on a bit of land, it indicated the purchase by turning black on the map.
But on the 15th of April, Shiba Inu community members discovered that a malicious user had purchased a piece of land that formed the sign of the swastika. As the news spread among Shiba Inu community members, SHIB buyers quickly bid on land surrounding the symbol and transformed the dreaded Swastika into the shape of a window.
Shiba Inu Community Members Supported Decision To Bar Offending Member
Most Shiba Inu community members support the decision of the developers to bar the malicious user. They have supported making the community more curated towards positivity and acceptance.
Community members tweeted that there was no slippery slope on the ban and said that they would choose the acceptable language.
Shiba Inu released a statement urging members to review the guidelines. They said that the safety of partners and community members was the biggest priority.
Shiba Inu said that they were excited at the commitment and energy to enter SHIB. They further informed them that they wanted to send a strong message to participants. They categorically stated that they would not accept the use of any form of hate speech, or the display of bigotry and intolerance either through actions, words, or symbolism. It further stated that Shibu Inu retains the discretion to remove accounts that it deems harmful. It said that it would place the account on a blacklist, barring it from any further participation.
