Some state governments have opted to step up and offer stimulus checks to the people in response to the persistent need that many Americans are feeling. Though not all plans have been made public, here are the ten states with stimulus checks or tax breaks planned for 2022.
Stimulus Checks Available For Eligible Residents
Colorado: A $400 tax credit for individuals and $800 for joint filers is given to the state’s 3.1 million “full-time” inhabitants.
Georgia: Refunds in the state of Georgia range from $250 to $500.
Single filers may receive up to $250, families up to $375, and married couples filing jointly may receive up to $500.
Hawaii’s Governor, David Ige, has proposed a $100 reward for each state resident. A $300 stipend will be available to Hawaiians who earn just under $100,000.
Gov. Brad Little of Idaho has approved a 12% rebate for Idaho citizens.
Residents who choose the direct transfer option were the first to get their refunds, which began in March.
Governor J.B. Pritzker of Illinois approved a $100 compensation for adults and a $50 refund for dependents.
Indiana residents who filed their taxes before January 3, 2022, will be eligible for a rebate. Individuals who comply will be paid $125, while married couples will be paid twice as much.
Maine: Gov Janet Mills signed into law a one-time stimulus check of $850 for residents earning less than $100,000. Household heads earning less than $150,00 and married couples filing jointly earning less than $200,00 are eligible for the relief payment.
Governor Phil Murphy of New Jersey has approved a $500 one-time payment to families. Governor Murphy planned to include non-citizens who filed taxes using a tax id number rather than an SSN.
New Mexico: Individuals earning less than $75,000 and married couples earning less than $150,000 will receive a $250 or $500 tax credit if they file their 2021 tax return. New Mexico will offer awards of $500 and $1000 to single and married filers in June.
Governor Kathy Hochul of New York signed legislation that provides up to $970 in property tax relief and temporarily suspends a $0.16 gas tax until the end of the year. Anyone earning less than $250,000 per year is eligible for this property tax rebate.
