Thousands of people in Minnesota may get $500 stimulus checks. On Wednesday, the Oregon Department of Revenue said that it will begin paying out payments of $600 to more than 236,000 families through check or direct deposit next week. The money is scheduled to reach eligible families by July 1.
Any member of the family who filed taxes in Oregon in 2020 and earned the Earned Income Tax Credit is eligible to receive the stimulus payment checks. In addition, as stated by Oregon Live, the family unit should have been a resident of the state of Oregon during the second half of 2020.
There will be no federal or state income tax on the $600 disbursements.
The $60,000,000 will be mailed to you in the form of a cheque.
By July 1, 2022, all eligible recipients should have received their payments.
The Stimulus Checks are being funded using American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds allocated to Oregon by the federal government.
The measure, known as House Bill 4157, was passed in the spring with support from both Republicans and Democrats.
As it was originally conceived, residents who were deemed important would receive $2,000 in stimulus payments. They should have continued working even as the disease spread.
Anyone who returned to work in the fall of 2016 was also scheduled to receive one.
