On Saturday, Kate Middleton shared photos from her recent trip to the British Army rookie minicamp, including many of herself decked out in complete military regalia.
In honor of Armed Forces Day, which is celebrated annually in the United Kingdom, posts including the photographs were made public on the social media accounts of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Kate Middleton Uploads Slides In Military Gear
The first Insta image features a 40-year-old Kate Middleton dressed from head to heel in military garb and bending down as if to check some piece of gear. Her next shot is of her wearing a helmet inside a tank, where she is only seen from the shoulders up.
The statement continued by saying that Middleton had visited the UK army facility “[l]ast year,” and that she had seen “how we train serving people and recruits.”
It signed off with “C” for Catherine and the words, “It was amazing to experience first-hand its many essential and varied responsibilities the military perform each and every day to defend us all,” before tagging the accounts of the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force.
In a short statement released alongside the photos, the Duchess of Cambridge said, “Today on Armed Forces Day, William and I want to pay homage to the courageous men as well as women, both past and present, having served in all our military services, in the air, at sea, and on land, in the UK, and around the world. I appreciate everything you and your loved ones do to keep us secure.
Another photo identified the site to be the Army Training Centre Pirbright, around 30 miles to the west of London, according to signs on a shed.
