Dylan O’Brien has mentioned that his own slut phase helped him in his performance in Not Okay– the satire film produced by Hulu. The 30-year-old actor went on to state that this persona was definitely hidden in him somewhere as he played the role of Colin, a bad boy, clout-chasing character. However, when he was asked if he still channeled Colin in his everyday life, the actor joked that the persona was definitely inside him.

The actor had his fans buzzing on Twitter back in April when he simply tweeted ‘slut era’- with absolutely no context whatsoever. While several fans believed that he was simply talking about his own life at that point in time, O’Brien later clarified that this was simply energy that was within him.

The alum of Teen Wolf also added that it felt like a prediction of where the world seemed to be heading. Interestingly, this suggestive tweet by Dylan O’Brien wasn’t the only time that the fan of this actor had gone crazy. Back in August of 2021, the internet went haywire after the official TikTok account of the film showed him in a platinum blond buzzcut.

He also went on to sport multiple temporary tattoos on both his arms. When speaking about the transformation O’Brien had to go through, director Quinn Shephard stated that she was trying to bring out the scum bro vibe through. She also informed Newsweek that O’Brien definitely intended his character to refer to a scum bro aesthetic.

Dylan O’Brien’s character was also based on the celebrity vibe that people like MGK or Pete Davidson exuded- where it would be the bleached blond hair and tattoos. She was blunt about wanting to give him a makeover that was distinctly f***boyish.
