Stimulus Check

California lawmakers are set to debate a bill that would give $600 in direct payments to residents. The legislation, sponsored by Democratic Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon and state Sen. Bob Hertzberg (D-Van Nuys), would be the first of its kind passed in the United States. It proposes distributing direct payments of $200 per month for 12 months through 2022, with an estimated cost of $3 billion. However, some Republicans oppose this type of policy due to concerns about its impact on California’s budget and economy.

According to reports the average American will receive around $600 in direct payments and an additional $300 per week in supplemental unemployment benefits for at least the next month.

Stimulus Check Update For November

You can expect to see your first wave of direct payments arrive by December 7th, but that’s not all! You’ll also be eligible for up to an additional $200 per week in supplemental unemployment benefits (TANF) if you’re out of work.

A direct payment is a cash payment to low-income households. The purpose of the direct payment is to help low-income families maintain their household budgets during the holiday season.

The U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that California will distribute $600 million to 6 million recipients across 18 states between now and Christmas Eve.

California has already distributed checks worth $200 each to 5 million Americans living on food stamps via electronic transfers into bank accounts or debit cards. It’s part of an effort by President Trump’s Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue (pictured above) to provide some relief for struggling families before tthe holidays start in earnest next week with Thanksgiving Day.

It’s important to remember that the direct payments are only available to certain taxpayers who have income below certain thresholds and who have a valid Social Security Number. They are not available for everyone, but many low-income Americans will be able to receive them.
