The American television host, writer, actor, and comedian Jay Leno is making a full recovery after suffering terrible burns in a gasoline fire.

He claimed to have sustained critical burns from a gasoline fire on Monday, confirming rumors of a recent medical emergency.

Jay Leno had burns to the left side of his face but not his eyes or ears, according to a reliable source, after one of his cars caught fire on Sunday in his vintage car garage in Burbank. Jay Leno, 72, was brought to West Hills’ Grossman Burn Center for medical attention.

The Grossman Burn Center released a statement saying that Jay “wants everyone to know that he is in stable condition and receiving treatment there for burns that he got to his face and hands from a gasoline accident in his garage over the weekend.” He is happy and touched by all the questions about his health and well wishes.

While acknowledging the media allegations, Burbank police told CBS Los Angeles that they “did not react to the event, were not requested, nor do we have any information about what went place or injuries sustained.”

Leno reportedly had to reschedule a Sunday night engagement at a finance conference in Las Vegas. Leno’s family provided little information, according to an email given to participants by the event’s organizers Jay Leno has been married to Mavis Leno since 1980,  they do not have any children.
