Metaverse is Making it Possible to Live Forever

The Metaverse might be a brand-new concept for you. But make no mistake about it; it is the future of the digital/virtual world. Because of its embrace of artificial intelligence, it can do something human beings never thought possible. It means long-dead people can be resurrected. It also means people like you and me can potentially live on long after our mortal bodies die off.

For now, a metaverse developer of virtual worlds is limited to platforms like the future of Facebook (which is now called Meta) and private digital-based companies like Exults. The Metaverse enjoys a direct, if not symbiotic, relationship with cryptocurrencies. In fact, Exults’ headquarters is said to be powered by the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain. There, players can purchase land (much like the Decentraland token) and construct stores, art galleries, and more.

But the Metaverse isn’t just limited to virtual property propped up by ETH. It is a place where you can actually conduct a meetup with a genius from another age in the historical canon. In a new essay, one author claims that the Metaverse not only offers the opportunity to discover new places and travel across a digital metaverse landscape but, more importantly, if not astonishingly, it will allow you to move about freely in metaverse history to experience living in the past. You will also be able to interact directly with iconic historical personalities.

To prove his point, the author of the article “My Dinner with Leonardo DaVinci—Living Forever in the Metaverse,” states that as far back as 2014, he wrote a column about the possibility of having a face-to-face conversation with Adolf Hitler in 2026. The setting would be inside a library. It would be an AI-powered hologram situation.

But since that time, he’s discovered how the introduction to the Metaverse might make it possible for this kind of interaction with historical figures, good and bad, to enter an entirely new level of sophistication.

In other words, you wouldn’t be meeting Hitler, or DaVinci, or even Jesus, for that matter, in a hologram form, but instead within the Metaverse.

The Hologram AI-Powered Experience

For a while now, the USC Shoah Foundation has been utilizing video databases armed with AI hologram tech to preserve the memories of Holocaust survivors. The compiled “visual historical archive” is intended for newer generations to have actual conversations with these amazing people via their avatars.

The avatar is said to communicate due to a huge database of answers that the survivors recorded on video. The results have been so remarkable that even the news program 60 Minutes did a story on the Shoah project several years back.

This new technology is now a growing industry. Famous artists, actors, writers, and adventurers are said to be recording their legacies for historical purposes. One day it will be possible for your great-great-great grandchildren to have a conversation with you.

But this is what’s being called “just the tip of the iceberg.”

Coming Together in the Metaverse

Says the author, based on his conversation with Adolph Hitler, he will more than likely be happy never to run into the murderous dictator ever again, even in the Metaverse. However, he’d love a chance to come together with Thomas Jefferson, Albert Einstein, and also Leonardo DaVinci.

It’s obviously way too late for many historical figures like Jesus of Nazareth or DaVinci to record 40 hours or more of commentary and answers to anticipated questions like the survivors did for the USC Shoah project. But there is a lot that’s known about these remarkable people via their own writings, recorded speeches, first-hand witness accounts, drawings, sculptures, photographs, and more. It just depends upon the era in which the specific historical figure lived.

How the Metaverse Will Work

Supercomputers will search for all existing sources to pull crucial information together. AI will then recreate the historical person, including their body and their brains, in the form of their memories and opinions. An avatar will be created inside a metaverse powered by ETH or perhaps Solana, that not only precisely looks like the historical figure but will think and speak just like the original physical person. In a word, the historical figure will live again.

The Metaverse will also possess the historical person’s knowledge base. If there exist gaps in the base, AI will do its best to “objectively fill them in.” This is accomplished based on “personality programming.” The metaverse avatar will be programmed with lots of additional information so that it will be possible for the historical figure to comment on topics revolving around eras he or she did not originally live in.

For instance, it might be perfectly conceivable for Thomas Jefferson to comment intelligently upon the Biden Administration’s performance thus far or about former President Donald Trump’s “Tweets.” You might also be able to discuss the future of Bitcoin and all cryptocurrencies with John D. Rockefeller.
