The 23 years old actress is playing the little fairy in the story in the upcoming live-action movie from the Disney studios. The movie also features Ever Anderson, Alexander Molony, Alan Tudyk, Jim Gaffigan, and Jude Law.
While speaking with Byrdie for the digital revival of the outlet, Yaa Shahidi revealed that the new diversity in the movie is not just including the brown and black race actors in the movie. She said that she has spoken to the director about why the higher-ups of the production wanted to tell the story, and as per the actress, they said that they wanted to bring some fun to the otherwise cult classic story. They apparently want to give the audience the fairytale that they deserve.

When the first trailer was released of the movie Peter Pan and Wendy, David Lowery, the director said that they are ready to create a movie that honours the original texts of the writers, and the animated adaptation of the same by Walt Disney.
