Emily Ratajkowski has begun to explain her decision to stop acting just as it had started to bloom. The 31-year-old author of My Body and Model talked to the LA Times regarding her motherhood, and work pursuits. She also touched on the subject of how her romantic life has been going following her separation from film producer Sebastian Bear-McClard, her former husband.
Emily Ratajkowski Prioritized Her Own Feelings
One of Emily Ratajkowski’s notable roles was in the 2013 music video for Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”. She debuted on the big screen in 2014 in Gone Girl by David Fincher. There she played the role of Andie – Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck)’s mistress, a college student. Following that, she starred in 2015’s We Are Your Friends and 2018’s I Feel Pretty. However, Emily Ratajkowski has more or less retired from showbiz since 2019.
Addressing her career in Hollywood, Emily Ratajkowski said she did not feel like an artist performing and using that medium as an outlet. Instead, she felt as if she was objectified as meat that was under the judgment of people wondering if breasts were her only good point.
According to the media outlet, Emily Ratajkowski’s latest audition was for 2022’s Triangle of Sadness. During this year’s Oscars, the film received Best Picture nominations. Charlbi Dean, the late model, had been ultimately cast in the role Emily was eyeing.
In her talk with the outlet, Emily Ratajkowski recalled that following Gone Girl, Emily hoped to secure roles that would show her potential as someone serious with longevity. However, by 2020, Emily had sacked her manager, agent, and commercial representative. Ratajkowski said that she had no trust in them and that she could handle the phone calls and make the decisions.
