Stimulus Check

Federal stimulus check payments that were issued to the citizens during the pandemic have been turned into a distant memory for most citizens. At the state level, however, the payments are still being issued for everything- all the way from surplus tax refunds to disaster relief. Close to 20 states have already offered some form of stimulus relief to the citizens in the last couple of years.

But there are certain updates coming in this year, which one should take a careful look at. In the state of California, the stimulus payments range between $200 and $1,050 and are available to the residents who filed for their state tax returns by the 15th of October, 2021, and have been living in California permanently.

Stimulus Check Payment Updates For A Few States

In the state of Georgia, one could be available for the Surplus Tax Refund of 2022 if they meet the following criteria, according to the Department of Revenue in Georgia. One has to have filed their individual income tax return for tax year 2021 and tax year 2022 by the 18th of April, 2023. They must also have had a tax liability for the tax year 2021. If one is a citizen of Georgia or is a part-year resident, they would receive the payment.

In the state of Maine, the residents will be eligible for Winter Energy Relief Payments of $450 for individuals and $900 for couples who are married. A notice was previously issued by the office of Maine Governor Janet Mills, who claimed that all the stimulus check payments were expected to be mailed by the 31st of March 2023.
