At the beginning of 2021, Ken Jennings was announced as a co-host to Bialik, and that the two would share the duties periodically. Before she had received the co-host role, Bialik had talked about being interested in being the show’s permanent host during a 2022 interview.
In the interview, she stated that she would love to be the permanent host. Mayim Bialik also revealed that she had watched every season since she was only 13. It would have been an immense honor as well to be the show’s first permanent female host. Neither Jennings nor Bialik were the first choice as the permanent replacement host.
