Rivian Introduces Support for Control Center Widgets in iOS 18

After Tesla’s implementation last month, Rivian is now introducing support for Control Center widgets for iPhone users with iOS 18.

As noted by RivianTrackr, the Rivian app for iPhone seems to feature a collection of five distinct controls. Once added to the Control Center, these functionalities allow users to complete routine tasks with just one tap.

  • Lock/Unlock
  • Hood
  • Climate
  • Liftgate
  • Windows

Rivian has been rapidly adopting popular features for iPhone. Earlier this year in February, the company incorporated Live Activity support, and their second-generation R1T and R1S electric vehicles also feature compatibility with Apple’s Car Key platform. However, a notable absence remains the lack of support for CarPlay, and there seems to be no indication that this will change.

iOS 18 brings a significant overhaul to the Control Center, allowing users greater customization of the layout and overall experience. With this update, it is now possible to have multiple pages within the Control Center, along with support for third-party applications like Rivian.

The most recent version of the Rivian app can be found on the App Store.
