The rollout of visionOS 2.2 beta 2 has commenced for developers. This upcoming update offers substantial enhancements to the Vision Pro’s Mac Virtual Display feature, which is now accessible to beta testers.
The enhanced Mac experience in visionOS 2.2 stands out
Users of Vision Pro have consistently hailed the Mac Virtual Display as one of the device’s standout features.
With visionOS 2.2, this feature receives a noteworthy upgrade.
The updated Mac Virtual Display includes:
- an improved screen resolution
- a selection of new Wide and Ultrawide display formats
- direct audio routing to Vision Pro
These enhancements were part of last week’s initial beta of visionOS 2.2, and you can experience them in the current beta 2 release as well.
It remains unclear whether Apple has introduced additional adjustments to the Mac Virtual Display in this latest beta, but we’ll be conducting our tests and will update you with any discoveries.
Currently, visionOS 2.2 is exclusively available to beta testers holding an Apple developer account. There is no public beta option for Vision Pro offered by Apple.
For those eager to experience the new Mac Virtual Display features but apprehensive about installing a developer beta, relief may be coming soon.
Apple plans to release visionOS 2.2 for all users in just a few weeks, with a projected launch timeframe of early to mid-December.
