Apple Pay Launches in Its Sixth South American Country

In its tenth year, Apple Pay continues to expand into new territories, with Uruguay being the latest addition, as shared by Apple server expert @aaronp.

Aaron, known for his expertise in monitoring Apple server updates, announced this development on X. To learn more, visit https://www.apple.com/la/apple-pay/. The regional availability page for Apple Pay is also expected to be updated soon.

Just a month ago, Apple launched its mobile payment system in Paraguay, a neighboring country. Other South American nations currently offering Apple Pay include Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Colombia. With Uruguay now on the list, Apple has successfully introduced its mobile payment service to six countries across South America.

Additionally, Apple has phased out its Apple Pay Later service, opting for collaborations with third-party buy now, pay later providers. Both Affirm and Klarna now integrate with Apple Pay at checkout.
