New iOS 18.2 Release Candidate and Major Updates on the Horizon

Apple has unveiled new release candidate (RC) versions for iOS 18.2, macOS 15.2, and various other software betas. These updates follow last week’s initial RC versions and are anticipated to precede public launches later this week.

What to Anticipate from the RC Release

Last week, Apple rolled out RC versions for the upcoming iOS 18.2, macOS 15.2, and more. However, the company has opted not to distribute that RC version to every user.

The RC betas released today are expected to represent the final iterations of iOS 18.2 and other software, with no further modifications planned.

  • iOS 18.2 is build 22C151
  • macOS 15.2 is build 24C100
  • tvOS 18.2 is build 22K155
  • visionOS 2.2 is build 22N841

If you’re unfamiliar with RC betas, it’s important to know that they are not designed to introduce new features. Instead, the focus is on fixing as many bugs as possible before the software is released to the public.

Apple is hopeful that today’s RC will be the exact version released publicly. Generally, it’s uncommon to see more than two RC builds. Nonetheless, should a critical issue arise, an additional RC could be released before the final launch.
