The lineup for Apple TV+ in 2025 is beginning to take shape, with the latest project unveiled being a film inspired by Indiana Jones, featuring John Krasinski and Natalie Portman. Here are the details on Fountain of Youth.
Fountain of Youth set to premiere on Apple TV+ with Guy Ritchie at the helm
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Apple Original Films had secured the next major movie project from director Guy Ritchie.
Titled Fountain of Youth, the film stars John Krasinski and Natalie Portman in leading roles.
Thanks to a preview by Entertainment Weekly, we have more insights into this upcoming film for Apple TV+.
Ritchie mentioned to ET that the film is “in the spirit of Indiana Jones but set in modern times.” The lead characters, estranged siblings, join forces for a global heist to locate the legendary spring.
“Both have backgrounds in archaeological pursuits when it comes to discovering artifacts, so there’s a rich history between them,” Ritchie explains. “They are estranged, but they find a reason to come together on this treasure hunt.”
Indeed, it bears a strong resemblance to an Indiana Jones adventure.
The film also visually captures that essence, as shown in the first public images of Fountain of Youth.
Release strategy for Fountain of Youth remains uncertain
Apple has yet to announce a specific release date for the film or details regarding its theatrical release strategy.
That said, it’s likely that Fountain of Youth might debut directly on streaming, akin to the recent releases of Wolfs and Blitz, and the upcoming The Gorge in early 2025.
Recently, it was reported that Apple would focus on reducing theatrical releases. The notable exception currently known is the highly anticipated F1 film featuring Brad Pitt, which will receive a significant theatrical promotion from Apple.
