Meta has been developing numerous exciting features for Threads, its microblogging service, and there’s an exciting addition on the horizon. The company has now hinted at a long-anticipated feature that will allow users to schedule posts for a future time.
New feature for scheduling posts is on its way to Threads
As revealed by the official Threads account on the platform, the post scheduling feature is currently being trialed with a limited group of users. Meta has indicated that it will be made available to all Threads users “soon,” although no specific timeline has been provided.
With this functionality, users can draft a post and set it to be published at a pre-determined time or date. Once the feature rolls out, users will find it by tapping the three-dot icon in the post composer. Scheduled posts will be stored in the draft folder, accompanied by a label indicating when they are set to be published. These posts can be modified or removed before they go live.
Recently, Meta appears to have intensified its efforts to introduce new features for Threads, especially as its competitor Bluesky has seen substantial growth. Just earlier this month, the platform started permitting users to follow accounts from others, though this comes with certain restrictions. Threads now also enables users to view videos in landscape mode and select a Custom Feed as their default view.
The Threads app is free to download from the App Store. To access new features, including the soon-to-come scheduling option, ensure that you have the latest version of the Threads app installed.
