All Airlines Supporting the New AirTags Feature in iOS 18.2

With the release of iOS 18.2, Apple enhanced AirTags by introducing a feature called “Share Item Location.” This enables users to share the location of a lost AirTag or another Find My network accessory with a trusted individual.

In conjunction with the launch of Share Item Location, Apple is collaborating with airlines globally. Below is a list of all the airlines that have adopted this innovative feature.

As discussed previously, the Share Item Location feature allows you to create a link to the location of a lost AirTag or any other Find My network accessory. This link enables a third party to access the real-time location of the lost item, assisting you in its recovery. The link displays the item’s position on an interactive map that refreshes automatically, along with a timestamp indicating the last update.

To generate a Share Item Location link, simply navigate to the Find My app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

Below is a list of all the airlines that have implemented support for accepting location links from the Find My app:

  • United
  • Delta
  • British Airways
  • Lufthansa
  • Air Canada
  • Air New Zealand
  • Turkish Airlines
  • Aer Lingus
  • Austrian Airlines
  • Brussels Airlines
  • Swiss
  • Eurowings
  • Iberia Airlines

This signifies that if you fly with any of these airlines and your luggage featuring an AirTag goes missing, you can share the AirTag’s location to assist the airline in locating it.

For instance, passengers traveling with United can submit a delayed baggage report via United’s app and include a Find My link with that report. Once submitted, United’s customer service can use this link to expedite the process of tracking down the lost luggage.

Additionally, Apple emphasizes the various privacy measures that accompany the new Share Item Location feature for AirTags:

  • Location sharing automatically terminates when a customer retrieves their bag.
  • The user has the option to stop sharing their location at any given time.
  • The generated link will expire automatically after 7 days.
  • The entire process is end-to-end encrypted and anonymous, ensuring that no one, including Apple and accessory manufacturers, can access the location of an item.

This feature adds significant value to AirTags, making them an essential tool for travelers.
