With One Sec, you can designate specific apps for reduced usage. Each time you launch one of those applications, you’ll encounter an intervention, which may involve a breathing exercise or other prompts. The default action is to take a deep breath, but various alternatives are available. The essential goal is to eliminate those automatic moments of mindless social media scrolling.
Additionally, once you’re in the selected app, you can set a time limit that triggers another intervention if you exceed it. This feature significantly curbs unintentional smartphone use. While social media is a primary focus, you can also apply it to work-related apps outside of working hours by utilizing its scheduling feature.
One Sec integrates smoothly with iOS focus modes and provides options to block apps entirely, rather than just reducing their usage. There’s a feature called “Good Morning Countdown” that restricts access to selected apps for over 15 minutes until you have been awake for at least one hour, using data from Apple Health.
