During CES 2025, Hyper introduced the groundbreaking HyperSpace Trackpad Pro. Until now, Apple’s Magic Trackpad has stood alone as the premier external multi-touch trackpad. With this innovative product, Hyper intends to change the landscape, offering excellent compatibility with Windows users as well.

Traditionally, Windows devices, including laptops, have struggled with trackpad performance. Issues such as poor sensitivity, missing multitouch gestures, and ineffective palm rejection often contribute to a frustrating user experience. For desktop users, quality options are scarce.

Even with macOS devices, Apple is virtually the sole provider of high-end external trackpads.

The HyperSpace Trackpad Pro is designed to address these issues. This premium external trackpad supports multitouch gestures, boasts reliable palm rejection, and provides precise control. Its sleek wedge shape is complemented by two rubber feet on the base, an aluminum body, and a smooth glass surface.

Retailing at $129.99, the price aligns with Apple’s Magic Trackpad. Shipping is expected to commence toward the end of Q2 2025, likely in May or June. The device is designed to last up to one month on a single charge and recharges using USB-C.

Additionally, Hyper will offer a palm rest accessory, providing users with a comfortable place to rest their hands next to the trackpad, akin to a laptop setup.

Hydra app

In conjunction with this release, Hyper is developing a new application for Windows users called Hydra. This software will enable users to create custom shortcut zones, map deep clicks on the trackpad to specific commands, and establish application-specific profiles for tailored shortcuts across different applications.

During their CES Unveiled presentation, Hyper indicated that achieving a similar level of tailored optimization for Mac users would be possible, but may take a bit more time.

For those who are creatives, heavy users, or simply looking for an enhanced trackpad experience on Windows, this is an exciting development! It’s also refreshing to see innovation for Mac users, considering that Apple remains the sole supplier with the Magic Trackpad.

As mentioned earlier, the HyperSpace Trackpad Pro is set to launch in late Q2, and you can register on Hyper’s website to receive notifications about its release.
