I’ve previously discussed how challenging the decision will be for average Pro buyers this year. Many opt for Pro models due to their status as the top-tier iPhones.
While this remains true, the innovative design of the 17 Air is likely to entice many Pro users, regardless of the Pro models being technically superior.
This is a concern for Apple, as the Pro models are set to be priced higher than the 17 Air.
This challenge is precisely why Apple is introducing ‘substantial alterations’ to the design of the iPhone 17 Pro.
Speculated updates include:
- transition to an aluminum frame
- an enlarged, ‘rectangular’ camera bump
- an aluminum top section of the back paired with a glass bottom
- a smaller Dynamic Island for the Pro Max variant
- and potentially rounded edges
Regardless of whether these changes appeal to you, one fact is evident: they will contribute to a distinct visual identity.
