This year marks the debut of AirTag 2, nearly four years after the original AirTag was introduced. While there are some impressive enhancements coming with AirTag 2, what I’m really hoping for is an extension of the series: it’s high time for an AirTag Max.
AirTag battery can be irritating, yet an accessory resolves the issue
AirTags offer numerous excellent applications. However, I’ve always had mixed feelings about the device due to the battery problem.
The inconvenience of remembering to replace AirTag batteries is something I’d rather avoid.
While the iPhone does send notifications when it’s time to replace the battery, it depletes quicker than I’d prefer, and I may not always be able to replace it right after getting the alert.
Managing multiple AirTags often leads to the frustration of constantly needing to replace batteries.
That’s why I was thrilled to discover the latest TimeCapsule product that can extend an AirTag’s battery life to an impressive 10 years.
TimeCapsule is a smart solution for addressing my key AirTag concern. Although it does add some bulk, making it less suitable for every application, it’s a fantastic choice for many AirTag scenarios.
This got me pondering: why hasn’t Apple done something like this?
Apple should introduce an AirTag Max
Apple could broaden its AirTag range not just with the AirTag 2, but also by introducing a new AirTag Max model.
AirTag Max would essentially replicate what TimeCapsule does now: provide considerably extended battery life at the cost of a bulkier design.
Ten years of battery life for an AirTag without any attachments? Count me in.
When stowing an AirTag Max in your luggage or vehicle, the dimensions are hardly a concern.
I believe Apple could even design the AirTag Max to be compact enough to fit comfortably on sturdier keychains.
Expanding the AirTag lineup with an AirTag Max feels like a quintessential Apple move. Honestly, I’m surprised they haven’t done this already.
Let’s hope that if AirTag 2 is successful, Apple will follow it up with an AirTag Max in the near future.
