Today, Apple rolled out new beta versions, but only for two of its operating systems. The updates for tvOS 18.3 and HomePod 18.3 have been released as developer beta 3, placing them ahead of other Apple platforms in the beta cycle.
New betas exclusively for two Apple platforms
Although new betas from Apple were anticipated for this week, the updates that launched today only include a couple of the expected releases.
Currently, the complete list of Apple updates in beta includes:
- iOS 18.3
- iPadOS 18.3
- macOS Sequoia 15.3
- tvOS 18.3
- watchOS 11.3
- visionOS 2.3
- HomePod 18.3
Typically, Apple unveils new betas for all of its platforms simultaneously.
However, today marks the release of new updates solely for tvOS 18.3 and HomePod 18.3.
This indicates that all other software updates remain at beta 2, while Apple’s Home devices proceed to beta 3.
Overall, we are not anticipating more than a few new beta releases before the public rollout of Apple’s upcoming suite of updates.
Last year, the company released just three betas along with a release candidate for its x.3 cycle. To date, we’ve seen a similar feature-limited series with the 2025 x.3 betas. Discovering new features in many of Apple’s updates this time has proven difficult.
We will keep you informed of any new findings in today’s releases.
