The widely used Opera web browser has rolled out a significant update for its iPhone and iPad application. This update enhances user interaction with Aria – the integrated AI – by introducing new Home Screen widgets. Read on for a comprehensive look at the latest enhancements in the Opera update for iOS.
According to a recent blog post, the current version of Opera for iOS features new Home Screen widgets. These widgets are completely customizable, allowing users to access crucial browser features with just a single tap. For example, users can utilize the widget to open a new tab in Private Mode or inquire with Aria.
Additionally, if you long-press the icon, you will discover even more shortcuts. “These enhancements facilitate quicker daily browsing by providing one-tap access to the most significant features,” states Opera.
Moreover, there’s another key addition in this update. Opera’s Aria AI is now accessible to anyone, even without signing in. Users can pose questions using text or voice commands. Aria can perform web searches and is capable of generating images using Google’s Imagen 3 Fast model.
Opera mentions that to utilize Aria without an account, simply update the iOS application to the latest version. However, note that non-registered users can generate a maximum of five images per day, while signed-in users can create up to 30 images daily.
Opera also expresses gratitude to iOS users for the recent “significant growth”.
User-centric updates like these have led to a notable growth for Opera on iOS. Between September and November 2024, our flagship browser for iPhone saw a 33% rise in new users across the European Union and a 31% increase globally! We appreciate your support – it’s your enthusiasm that drives us to continue developing exciting new features to enhance the browsing experience.
The Opera browser for iOS is available for free on the App Store and requires an iPhone or iPad running iOS 14 or later.
