At the beginning of this month, Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, contributed $1 million to the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump. Recently, Bloomberg reported that Cook is expected to be present at Trump’s inauguration next week.
Alongside Cook, Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos are also set to attend the inauguration. Furthermore, Tesla’s Elon Musk is also likely to be there, which is no surprise. Trump has previously met with several executives privately at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, including Tim Cook.
Numerous major tech companies, such as Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, have contributed to Trump’s inauguration. It’s significant to mention that Tim Cook’s donation is a personal one made to Trump’s inauguration fund, while Apple as a corporation has not made any contributions.
According to Bloomberg, Trump’s inauguration fund has amassed $200 million, “setting new records.” As highlighted by John Gruber last week, Apple donated $43,200 to Biden’s inauguration fund, and Tim Cook did not provide any personal funding.
- Microsoft contributed $500,000.
- Google provided $337,500.
- Amazon gave $326,509.85.
- Apple donated $43,200; Tim Cook did not contribute.
- Neither Facebook (prior to name change) nor Zuckerberg made any donations.
The inauguration is scheduled for January 20 in Washington, D.C., starting at 12 p.m. ET.
