Macworld Claims Samsung Galaxy S25 Adopts Over a Dozen Features from iPhone

The recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S25 has reportedly borrowed features from more than a dozen iPhone attributes, according to Macworld, citing similarities that range from its sleek design to the distinctive glowing border of Siri.

The article admits that both tech giants tend to mimic each other, yet highlights that Samsung’s approach appears to be less discreet…

Macworld’s Mahmoud Itani presents his arguments, starting with Apple Intelligence.

Apple Intelligence integrates built-in ChatGPT, while others like Google Gemini are expected to roll out soon. A standout AI feature of Samsung’s is its AI ecosystem, specifically designed for third-party chatbots, beginning with Google Gemini instead of its own Bixby AI assistant.

Upon activating Gemini, users see a text box with a vibrant glowing border—mirroring the experience with Siri. Samsung also demonstrated that this chatbot accommodates both text and voice methods for input. Furthermore, invoking the text selection displays a UI that closely resembles Apple’s Writing Tools, enabling users to proofread and convert text into tables, among other functions.

Itani proceeds to highlight capabilities such as transcribing and summarizing phone calls, natural-language search in the Photos application, and features reminiscent of Image Playground.

Additional instances mentioned include a Now Bar similar to Live Activities, as well as the option to utilize “cinematic audio” while filming videos.

DMN’s Perspective

It’s undeniable that Samsung takes cues from Apple. A recurring strategy is for Samsung to monitor rumored or leaked iPhone features and quickly release its own iteration, thus posing as the pioneer while Apple carefully perfects its version.

However, it is also clear that Apple derives inspiration from Samsung, alongside the fact that several technological advancements will naturally be adopted across different companies once they become viable.

In the end, competition among these companies fosters innovation, resulting in improved implementations of new ideas.
