As noted in a tweet by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is set to undertake some “merchandise/floor marketing updates” in its retail locations next week. While the specifics aren’t confirmed, it’s anticipated that Apple will introduce the new Black Unity Apple Watch band for 2025.
Traditionally, Apple has unveiled these new bands in mid to late January and made them available for purchase about a week later. Although Apple hasn’t officially announced the new Black Unity Apple Watch band this year, it is likely to be the announcement in question.
MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris recently found references to the upcoming watch band in the tvOS 18.3 code, indicating that the launch is imminent.
Apple initiated the launch of Black Unity Apple Watch bands in 2021, establishing it as an annual tradition. These bands typically showcase a red, green, and black color scheme and have recently been accompanied by a new watch face.
Considering that Apple released the release candidate of iOS 18.3 last week, it’s reasonable to assume that the limited-edition watch band is on the horizon.
There are also rumors of an upcoming announcement for the new MacBook Air featuring the M4 chip before spring, although it’s unlikely to be part of next week’s announcements.
