A significant outage of Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN) on Saturday has resulted in countless gamers being unable to access online features, stores, and multimedia applications.
“We acknowledge that some users may be experiencing difficulties with PSN,” PlayStation stated on its social media channels, addressing the growing number of complaints worldwide.
Reports of connectivity problems spread rapidly through social media, with users expressing frustration over error notifications and failures to log in.
“Having PSN down on a Friday night is unacceptable,” lamented a user from London named Ramos on X, previously known as Twitter.
As per the Downdetector outage monitoring site, issues with PSN began to be reported late Friday.
Shortly after, Sony acknowledged users’ issues, confirming the outage but not providing specific details regarding its cause.
The Sony website indicated that it is experiencing issues with its PlayStation Network services. The PlayStation support page noted that “some services are facing problems,” affecting account management, gaming and social services, as well as PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Direct.
In October, the PlayStation network experienced downtime for several hours.
