Apple Set to Unveil M4 MacBook Air in Coming Weeks, According to Report

As reported by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple is “preparing” to unveil a refreshed 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air featuring the M4 chip, with an expected launch in March.

Speculation surrounding the M4 MacBook Air has been circulating for quite some time. As early as December, hints surfaced in the macOS 15.2 beta, indicating that a launch was imminent. Gurman noted that the MacBook Air was anticipated to debut before other spring products such as the iPhone 16e and iPad Air. However, despite the launch of the iPhone 16e, the MacBook Air has yet to be released.

That is likely to change soon. Gurman suggests that the new M4 laptop will arrive in March, with Apple currently mobilizing its marketing, sales, and retail teams for the launch. He also mentioned that existing M2 and M3 models are experiencing low stock levels in stores.

Aside from the M4 chip, specific details regarding the M4 MacBook Air remain limited. Potential enhancements may include upgrading to Thunderbolt 4 (as opposed to USB 4/Thunderbolt 3), introducing a Center Stage camera, and offering a nano-texture display option. These features have already been seen in other Macs powered by the M4 chip.
