Apple Launches Two Exciting New Apps in iOS 18.4 and visionOS 2.4 Beta 2

Today, Apple introduced the new betas for iOS 18.4 and visionOS 2.4. The Beta 2 version includes exciting new applications for both platforms: the ‘Apple Vision Pro’ app for iPhone and the ‘Spatial Gallery’ for the Vision Pro.

Introducing ‘Apple Vision Pro’ – The Latest iPhone App in iOS 18.4

For several years, Apple has provided a standalone ‘Watch’ app on the iPhone to manage and set up your Apple Watch.

Now, with iOS 18.4 beta 2, they’ve extended this concept to the Vision Pro.

The newly launched ‘Apple Vision Pro’ app for iPhone serves as a dedicated hub to:

  • check your Vision Pro’s model number, software version, and serial number
  • browse tips and access the Vision Pro user guide
  • explore recent and new Vision Pro content, including immersive videos, applications, games, and more

Launching the app reveals a straightforward Discover page where you can swipe through various updates and information regarding the latest Vision Pro content.

It functions similarly to the App Store’s Today tab.

Since purchasing my Vision Pro late last year, I’ve wished for a way to keep up with the latest offerings without actively using visionOS. The Apple Vision Pro app seems to fulfill that need effectively.

Moreover, users of the Vision Pro will receive a new Spatial Gallery app as part of visionOS 2.4 beta 2.

As noted earlier, this app serves as a centralized location for all your spatial media—photos, videos, and panoramic imagery. However, it offers even more.

According to Apple:

With Spatial Gallery, users can immerse themselves in breathtaking and intimate moments across art, culture, entertainment, lifestyle, nature, sports, and travel, with new content added regularly. Initially, users will be able to discover extraordinary perspectives from photographers such as Jonpaul Douglass and Samba Diop; fresh stories and experiences from renowned brands like Cirque du Soleil, Red Bull, and Porsche; behind-the-scenes glimpses from Apple Originals like Disclaimer, Severance, and Shrinking; plus memorable experiences from leading artists.

The two new applications are currently accessible to beta users with iOS 18.4 beta 2 and visionOS 2.4 beta 2.

They are anticipated to be publicly available for all users in early April.
