Tim Cook Hints at Exciting New Apple Product This Week: “There’s Something in the Air”

Tim Cook shared on social media today that Apple has an exciting product launch scheduled for this week.

The brief teaser video he posted on X states: “There’s something in the Air.”

New Apple Product Launch This Week

This is a clear indication that Apple will be unveiling a new MacBook Air soon. This upcoming model is anticipated to feature an M4 chip and will maintain the existing 13-inch and 15-inch configurations of the current version.

The new M4 chip is expected to bring several significant enhancements for MacBook Air users. Currently, the highest RAM capacity for the MacBook Air is 24GB, but the new M4 variant will likely increase that limit to 32GB. Users can also expect improved memory bandwidth, an additional two CPU cores, and a 12MP Center Stage camera.

Furthermore, the M4 MacBook Air will allow for more extensive support for external displays. Unlike the M3 MacBook Air, which can only support two external displays when the lid is closed, the M4 variant will be capable of supporting two external displays while also utilizing its built-in screen—similar to the base model M4 MacBook Pro.

Additionally, Apple is anticipated to launch an updated iPad Air this spring. As per Bloomberg, the M4 MacBook Air refresh is the first item on their agenda. Recently, Mark Gurman mentioned in a post today that a combined announcement for both the new iPad Air and MacBook Air “isn’t out of the question,” especially given the dwindling inventory of the iPad Air.

Keep an eye on DMN for further updates regarding Apple’s announcements this week.

If the teaser “there’s something in the air” sounds familiar, it’s because Apple used the same phrase during the unveiling of the inaugural MacBook Air back in 2008:
