Fortnite Makes a Comeback on iPhone and iPad in New Region Following App Store Ruling

Epic Games has revealed plans to reintroduce Fortnite to the iPhone and iPad in a new region following a recent antitrust ruling against Apple.

Commencing in July, Fortnite will make its comeback to the App Store in Brazil, as announced by Epic Games on Monday.

The move to reinstate this popular multiplayer game on iPhone and iPad comes after a ruling last fall that deemed Apple’s anti-steering policy unlawful in Brazil.

This ruling prohibits Apple from stopping developers from linking to their own sites to sell products such as games and books. Additionally, Apple will have to ease payment method restrictions for the Brazilian App Store.

Meanwhile, Apple is facing its biggest setback in the European Union, where it must facilitate third-party marketplaces competing with the App Store on iPhone and iPad.

Fortnite is also set to return to iPhone and iPad users in the UK and Japan. Since their refusal to comply with App Store regulations, Epic Games has been barred from the App Store in other regions.
