The US stock market is experiencing significant volatility due to uncertainties surrounding tariffs. Consequently, the built-in Stocks app on the iPhone is likely being utilized more frequently these days. Here’s a powerful hidden feature of Apple’s Stocks app that can enhance your ability to monitor the market.
Similar to most Apple applications, the Stocks app provides a variety of Home Screen widgets.
One of the standout options is the Watchlist widget, which allows you to conveniently track multiple symbols all in one place on your iPhone’s Home Screen or Today View.
This widget becomes even more valuable with a hidden toggle located in the widget’s edit screen.
To access it, add the Watchlist widget to your iPhone, then tap on it while in editing mode (or long-press the widget and select ‘Edit Widget’).
You’ll discover four customizable options here:
- Watchlist
- Show Stories
- Show Watchlist Name
- Show More Details
The ‘Show More Details’ option in particular is one to pay attention to.
This feature is turned off by default, but enabling ‘Show More Details’ allows you to display double the symbols within the same widget.
