Amanda Seyfried missed out on Golden Globes to work on something that could potentially be a road trip of a lifetime.
The actress missed out on receiving her award- as she won best actress in a limited series at the Golden Globes- simply because she was across the country in New York City. In NYC, she had been workshopping for the musical adaptation of Thelma and Louise with actress Evan Rachel Wood- as mentioned by Variety, which cited sources close to the actress. The representatives for Seyfried did not respond to the requests for comment made by PEOPLE.
Variety also went on to report that Trip Cullman, the theatre director, had been slated to direct this musical- with the score composed by Neko Case. The screenplay for the musical would come from a book by Harvey Feiffer and Callie Khouri- with the latter writing the original film which was produced in 1991.
