As per Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter, Apple is set to place a significant emphasis on enhancing video recording features in the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro models. While previous iterations have primarily concentrated on photography, it’s refreshing to see video capabilities receiving greater attention.
Apple aims for the iPhone to serve as a replacement for traditional cameras. Over the years, they’ve worked hard on creating the ultimate mobile camera system, and they’re planning to elevate that further by concentrating more on video. Although iPhones have been proficient in video recording, Apple is looking to enhance this experience.
According to Gurman, one of Apple’s objectives for the 2025 iPhone lineup, which includes the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, is to encourage the vlogging community and other content creators to transition from their standalone cameras to the iPhone:
A key goal for the 2025 iPhone series is to entice the vlogging and video creation community to shift away from dedicated cameras in favor of using the iPhone for more of their projects. Expect Apple to highlight these enhanced video recording capabilities more than ever when the new iPhones launch in September.
While the report lacks specifics on how Apple intends to improve the video capabilities of the iPhone 17 Pro, we hope to receive more information soon. This development is particularly intriguing, in my opinion.
