Apple Appoints Vanessa Trigub as Vice President of Retail Stores

Apple appears to be restructuring its executive team, with an announcement of a global VP position dedicated to overseeing the company’s retail stores globally.

Apple appoints a new VP of retail stores

While the company has not yet officially confirmed the news, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that Vanessa Trigub is being elevated to the role of vice president of stores and retail operations. Trigub has previously managed locations in the Americas West region and will now oversee retail leaders in Europe and the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas East region, according to the report.

With Trigub taking on greater responsibilities as VP of retail stores, Apple aims to streamline its retail organization. Currently, Deirdre O’Brien manages all retail operations, but she also assumed the HR department following the departure of Carol Surface, Apple’s first Chief People Officer.

Trigub has been with Apple since 2007, shortly after the first iPhone’s launch, and has held various roles related to the company’s finances, mergers, and acquisitions. The change in leadership will allow O’Brien to have “fewer direct reports.” Instead of managing retail executives across each region, she will focus on overseeing Trigub’s direction of retail stores.

Insiders suggest that Apple views Trigub as a potential successor to O’Brien when she ultimately steps down after more than thirty years with the company. This news follows the recent transition of Siri chief John Giannandrea, who was replaced by Mike Rockwell, the current VP of Vision Pro.
