2024’s Standouts: New Releases with Positive Reviews
I admit I’m not a frequent Apple Arcade player.
As a subscriber via Apple One, I truly enjoyed the service in its initial phase, but it has mostly slipped off my radar in the past year or two.
This piqued my interest about the top games list and whether it reflects a wider trend in the service.
While specific download figures for these titles are unavailable, I was eager to discover if the leading games of 2024 are mostly new releases or time-tested classics.
Essentially, I aimed to understand if Apple Arcade had a robust gaming ecosystem.
The findings were unexpected.
Among the top 10 titles, seven were launched within approximately the last year. Only three older games have maintained their popularity on the platform.
If we narrow it down to the top eight, seven titles are recent releases, with the exception being the persistently popular Sneaky Sasquatch.
You can interpret this data in various ways, but I believe it suggests:
- a vibrant, engaged user community for Apple Arcade
- and that developers’ efforts are being recognized as new games achieve success
Additionally, if we look at customer reviews, the top 10 titles perform well there too.
