Apple and Goldman Sachs unveil temporary support for Apple Card users in LA
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company has been reaching out to users whose addresses fall within the designated “natural disaster zone.” Apple indicates that these users “may be eligible” for financial assistance concerning their Apple Card payments. Notably, Apple Card holders in the impacted regions can skip their upcoming month’s payment without facing any interest charges.
In addition to waiving interest, users in the affected areas who choose to defer payments will not have their accounts frozen. Here are the full benefits offered under the Disaster Relief Program:
- You may skip the payment due for the month in which you enroll.
- No interest will accrue during the month of enrollment. The standard purchase APR will apply in the following month.
- If your account is in good standing, it will remain current while you are enrolled.
- If your account is behind, it won’t fall further behind while you are enrolled, although it will stay past due until all outstanding payments are settled.
- If your spending was limited, those restrictions may persist.
Customers who have been affected should contact Apple Card Support through the Messages app. On your iPhone, open the Wallet app and select Apple Card. Tap the More button, then select Account Details. Next, tap the Message button and enter a request such as, “I would like to inquire about payment assistance plan options.”
