Apple has officially unveiled the M4 MacBook Air. This newest version features a fresh sky blue color option and a more affordable entry price.
The new sky blue hue replaces the previous space gray option in the range, now alongside midnight, starlight, and silver. It boasts a new 12MP Center Stage camera and supports the connection of up to two 6K external displays concurrently with its built-in screen.
The starting price is set at $999 for the 13-inch variant (or $899 for education customers), while the 15-inch model starts at $1199 (and $1099 for educational buyers). Pre-orders are open today, with release scheduled for March 12. Here is the official statement:
Today, Apple has announced the latest MacBook Air, showcasing the remarkable speed of the M4 chip, delivering up to 18 hours of battery life,1 equipped with a new 12MP Center Stage camera, and offered at a reduced starting price. It also supports up to two external displays alongside the built-in screen, begins with 16GB of unified memory, and harnesses the impressive features of macOS Sequoia with Apple Intelligence — all integrated into a lightweight and sleek design. The MacBook Air now introduces a brand-new sky blue color — a metallic light blue joining midnight, starlight, and silver — presenting a stunning palette of colors like never before. Now starting from only $999 — a $100 reduction compared to the previous price — and $899 for educational customers, it presents unbeatable value for students, professionals, or anyone seeking superior performance, portability, craftsmanship, and longevity. Available in both 13-inch and 15-inch options, the new MacBook Air can be pre-ordered now, with availability beginning on Wednesday, March 12.
In addition to the $100 price drop for the MacBook Air, Apple has also discontinued the M2 and M3 MacBook Air models from its online store.
