Apple Launches Beta 2 for watchOS 11.5, visionOS 2.5, and Additional Updates

Apple has rolled out new betas for developers: the second beta of watchOS 11.5, along with visionOS 2.5 and tvOS 18.5, is now available for download.

Developer beta 2 launches without a public beta

Typically, Apple adheres to a consistent release schedule when testing beta software: developers receive the software one day, followed by public beta users the next. These two groups generally receive updates simultaneously as the official release date approaches.

However, Apple has yet to issue any public betas for its forthcoming releases.

The first beta versions of tvOS 18.5, watchOS 11.5, HomePod 18.5, and others were introduced in early April.

Now, developer beta 2 has arrived before any public betas have been released.

The reason for this delay remains unclear, although it could be that Apple identified excessive bugs in the initial betas that rendered them unsuitable for public distribution.

As of now, these software versions display only minimal visible changes.

Even iOS 18.5 shows little noteworthy new features, especially since iPhone software typically gets the most significant enhancements.

We’ll keep you updated on any changes we uncover in beta 2 for visionOS 2.5, watchOS 11.5, and more. However, it’s likely that these updates will mainly concentrate on bug fixes in anticipation of more substantial changes at WWDC in June.

Have you installed beta 2 for any of these updates and noticed any differences? Share your findings in the comments.
