Apple is nearing the release of an updated range of software, with today’s release candidate (RC) versions of visionOS 2.4, tvOS 18.4, and others pushing us closer to that significant launch date.
RC updates introduce additional bug fixes and enhanced stability
The anticipated software updates from Apple are scheduled to roll out to the public in early April.
Included in these updates are:
- iOS 18.4
- iPadOS 18.4
- macOS Sequoia 15.4
- visionOS 2.4
- watchOS 11.4
- tvOS 18.4
- and HomePod 18.4
Today, Apple has launched RC beta versions for this upcoming software lineup, indicating these could be the final releases for the public. Although issuing second RCs isn’t uncommon.
As usual, the updates for iPhone, iPad, and Mac are among the most significant. Additionally, Vision Pro’s software update is particularly feature-rich, thanks to the introduction of Apple Intelligence, a new Spatial Gallery app, enhancements in Guest Mode, and more.
If you are already enrolled in the developer beta program on your device, you should find the new Release Candidate betas available in your Software Update section.
With these RC releases, Apple’s focus will now shift primarily towards resolving bugs and enhancing stability.
This approach minimizes the risk of introducing new features or visible changes that could inadvertently create additional bugs, which may impede the timely launch of the software.
For those already testing the beta, today’s RC updates are expected to deliver a smoother experience overall. If you’re not in the beta program, the updates should be accessible to all users within a week or two.
