Apple Launches Two Exciting New Apps in iOS 18.4 and visionOS 2.4

Today, Apple unveiled significant updates for iOS 18.4 and visionOS 2.4, introducing two new applications: ‘Apple Vision Pro’ for iPhone and ‘Spatial Gallery’ for Vision Pro. Here’s everything you need to know about these exciting additions.

‘Apple Vision Pro’ is the latest addition to iPhone apps in iOS 18.4

For many years, Apple has provided a dedicated ‘Watch’ app on iPhones to assist users in setting up and managing their Apple Watch.

With iOS 18.4, a similar approach has now been extended to the Vision Pro.

The newly introduced ‘Apple Vision Pro’ app on the iPhone serves as a centralized hub to:

  • check your Vision Pro’s model number, software version, and serial number
  • access helpful tips and the Vision Pro user manual
  • explore new and recent Vision Pro content, including immersive videos, applications, games, and more

Upon opening the app, users are greeted with a Discover page that showcases a variety of stories about the latest Vision Pro updates and content.

This interface functions similarly to the Today tab in the App Store.

If you own a Vision Pro, the Apple Vision Pro app will be automatically installed on your iPhone once you update to iOS 18.4. For others, the app is available as an optional download from the App Store.

The second application launched today is Spatial Gallery, which premieres for Vision Pro users with visionOS 2.4.

Spatial Gallery serves as a dedicated platform for all your spatial media—photos, videos, and panoramic images. However, its capabilities extend beyond that.

Here’s how Apple describes the app in full:

Spatial Gallery, an innovative app for Apple Vision Pro, showcases spatial photos, videos, and panoramas curated by Apple. It allows users to immerse themselves in captivating moments across a range of categories, including art, culture, entertainment, lifestyle, nature, sports, and travel, with fresh content added regularly.

At launch, users can enjoy stories and experiences from renowned brands such as Red Bull, Cirque du Soleil, and Porsche; explore behind-the-scenes content from Apple Originals like Severance, The Studio, and The Morning Show; and engage in conversations with acclaimed artists such as Bad Bunny, Charli XCX, and Keith Urban.

I’m looking forward to seeing how frequently Apple can introduce new content to Spatial Gallery and encourage users to engage with the app.
