Apple May Not Host Special Event for iPhone SE 4 Announcement

On Thursday, reports surfaced that Apple is preparing to roll out the next iteration of the iPhone SE in the coming days. While many anticipate a significant event for new product announcements, it’s possible that Apple may choose to forgo a formal event for the launch of the iPhone SE 4, as well as new iPads and Macs.

iPhone SE 4 to be announced via press release

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple intends to reveal the iPhone SE 4 on its website without conducting a press event. This approach has become increasingly common for the tech giant in recent years. However, this may still include a brief video highlighting the new iPhone’s features.

Last year, Apple showcased the M4 Macs during an “exciting week of announcements,” releasing a new 10-minute video every day. It’s likely that a similar strategy will be employed for the latest version of its budget-friendly iPhone.

The iPhone SE 4 is predicted to feature significant enhancements over the existing model. While it may not offer substantial upgrades for those with the latest iPhones, it will finally eliminate the Home Button design, presenting a more contemporary aesthetic. It is expected to include an edge-to-edge display and Face ID for the first time.

The new iteration of the iPhone SE is also rumored to feature a better 48-megapixel rear camera, USB-C support, and Apple’s first 5G modem.

Alongside the iPhone SE 4, Gurman mentioned that stocks of the iPad Air and MacBook Air are running low in Apple Stores, which could indicate that new models are on the way. The company is speculated to upgrade both devices with the M4 chip. However, it’s uncertain whether the new iPads and Macs will be announced together with the iPhone SE next week.
