Apple Releases New Firmware Update for Powerbeats Pro 2

Apple has just rolled out a new firmware update for the Powerbeats Pro 2, marking the first significant update since the headphones were launched last month.

Recent Firmware Update Arrives One Month After Powerbeats Pro 2 Launch

The Powerbeats Pro 2 were introduced in February as the highly anticipated successor to Beats’ well-loved earbuds aimed at athletes.

This latest iteration of the Powerbeats Pro features an Apple H2 chip, a more streamlined design, and even introduces heart rate monitoring, which will also be a standout feature in the upcoming AirPods Pro 3.

While Apple initially provided a firmware update prior to the launch of these headphones, today’s release represents the first significant post-launch update.

The firmware version released today is 7B30, though the specific changes included are currently unknown. At the very least, you can anticipate some bug fixes and enhancements in performance.

The previous day-one firmware update was version 7B24.

Firmware updates for Beats headphones happen automatically while they are charging and within range of a connected iPhone or another compatible device.

To find out which firmware version you’re using, go to the iOS Settings app, then select the Powerbeats Pro 2 settings at the top, and check the Version number in the About section.
