Apple is gradually expanding the availability of its Vision Pro headset to new markets, with South Korea and the United Arab Emirates being the latest additions. The company has now officially confirmed that Apple Vision Pro will also be released in Taiwan just in time for the upcoming holiday season.

Apple Vision Pro Launching in Taiwan

According to a press release on Apple Taiwan’s website, the launch of the Apple Vision Pro is set for December 17, just two weeks away. Pre-orders will open on Thursday, December 5, exclusively through Apple’s online store. The homepage of Apple Taiwan has been updated to highlight the Vision Pro.

“Apple announced today that Apple Vision Pro will officially launch in Taiwan, with reservations starting at 9 a.m. on December 5 (Thursday) and the product becoming available on December 17 (Tuesday). Apple Vision Pro seamlessly merges digital content with the physical world, delivering an immersive spatial experience that transforms the way users work, collaborate, connect, experience memories, and enjoy entertainment,” states the company.

In Taiwan, the Vision Pro will have a starting price of NT$119,900, which translates to approximately $3,670. In the U.S., the base price for the headset is $3,499 for the 256GB model, with options for 512GB and 1TB storage. As in other regions, customers in Taiwan can also purchase optical inserts from ZEISS for use with the Vision Pro.

The global rollout of the Apple Vision Pro has been relatively slow, similar to that of the HomePod. In June, Apple introduced the device to markets in China, Japan, and Singapore, followed by launches in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom in July.

Apple Vision Pro has been viewed as a specialized product. In a recent interview, Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, acknowledged that this device is not intended for the mass market. According to a report from The Information, Apple has a sufficient inventory to meet Vision Pro demand “for the foreseeable future.” Analysts project that Apple will have produced around 600,000 units of the headset by the end of 2024.
