Apple TV+ Continues Its Winning Streak with These Two New Releases

Recently, many viewed Apple TV+ as primarily the home of Ted Lasso. However, a series of successful shows released over the past year culminated in Apple’s biggest milestone yet with the second season of Severance. This momentum seems poised to continue with two new releases coming to Apple TV+ shortly.

Apple TV+ winning streak started last summer and shows no signs of slowing down

Apple TV+ is currently experiencing its highest level of success to date. This is not only reflective of Severance’s popularity.

Beginning last summer, the streaming service unveiled a succession of excellent TV premieres.

The initial standout was Presumed Innocent, which garnered significant mainstream attention—thanks primarily to the star power of Jake Gyllenhaal and its intriguing storyline.

Later in the summer, the charming comedy Bad Monkey, created by Bill Lawrence and Vince Vaughn, delighted subscribers.

As autumn approached, several of Apple’s most acclaimed shows launched new seasons in rapid succession, including:

Although Disclaimer did not reach the heights Apple anticipated, it remained a significant event for the streaming service.

This all culminated in Severance, undeniably Apple’s largest achievement to date.

I’m eagerly looking forward to Dope Thief, which has just been released on TV+ and is an acclaimed crime thriller featuring Brian Tyree Henry.

Moreover, Apple’s forthcoming lineup appears equally enticing.

Two upcoming Apple TV+ shows generating substantial buzz

In just a few days, Apple TV+ will introduce a new comedy titled The Studio, created by Seth Rogen.

The first two episodes will be available on this Wednesday, March 26, and it’s challenging to pinpoint another Apple TV+ series that has received as much critical acclaim.

Check out these noteworthy review excerpts:

  • Discussing Film: “one of the best TV shows available on streaming”
  • TIME: “the standout new show of 2025 so far”
  • Metro: “the top show of 2025”
  • The Hollywood Reporter: “a strong candidate for the best new comedy of 2025”

The Studio previously held a flawless 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, currently resting at an impressive…98%.

Following this week’s premiere episodes, additional episodes of The Studio will be released weekly until May 21.

Shortly thereafter, another promising series will make its debut.

Your Friends & Neighbors features Jon Hamm as a wealthy hedge fund manager whose fortunes take a downturn. As his quiet life crumbles, he turns to a life of crime, pilfering household items from his affluent neighbors.

Apple TV+ has already renewed this series for a second season before it even premiered, which is a positive indication. Additionally, critical buzz has been encouraging.

While reviews remain under wraps, some strong early feedback has surfaced, such as this insight from Glamour:

Having viewed the first few episodes, it’s characterized as a blend of Big Little Lies and Breaking Bad, yet with its own distinct take on themes of class, wealth, and gender dynamics…Your Friends & Neighbors will undoubtedly be your essential binge-watch this spring.

Your Friends & Neighbors will launch Friday, April 11 with its initial two episodes, followed by weekly releases through May 30.

Summary of new Apple TV+ releases
